Four Japanese companies have formed two joint ventures to develop the LNG bunkering market in the ports of Japan, similar to operations started in the northwest European ports of Rotterdam in the Netherlands and Zeebrugge in Belgium.

TechnipFMC, the energy and liquefied natural gas engineering company, posted mixed first-quarter results amid continued progress on the Yamal LNG project in Russia and as front-end engineering and design activity increased in the sector.

Mitsui & Co., the Japanese trading house and stakeholder in the Mozambique onshore LNG project led by Anadarko Petroleum of the US, said it expected a final investment decision on the joint venture by the end of the year.

Tellurian Inc., the developer of the Driftwood LNG export plant in Louisiana and associated infrastructure and resources such as pipelines and natural gas production, said it expected to identify its joint venture partners soon as more than 20 companies had shown an interest.
