US Sempra and Cheniere LNG as well as India’s Petronet give views at Gastech on market challenges
Executives from the leading LNG companies in North America and India took centre stage at the Gastech Virtual Summit on the key issues facing the natural gas industry, with Sempra LNG saying the energy transition was already happening in California and gave an estimate of natural gas needed in LNG terms to back up renewables.
Sempra Energy to open centre of excellence in Houston to attract LNG and utility personnel
Sempra Energy, the operator of the Cameron liquefied natural gas export plant in Louisiana and the developer of two other facilities in Texas and Mexico, said it was opening a new “Center of Excellence” in Houston to attract more LNG and utility sector personnel.
Cameron LNG and engineering contractors expect processing Trains to start up in 2019
Cameron LNG, the existing US import terminal at Hackberry in Louisiana being transformed into an export plant, is expected to have three processing Trains in operation in 2019 after resolving scheduling issues with the contractors.
Texas regulators approve ownership of Oncor by LNG export plant developer Sempra Energy
Sempra Energy, the owner of LNG facilities in Louisiana and Mexico, said the Public Utility Commission of Texas had approved an order authorizing the joint change-in-control application filed by Oncor Electric Delivery Co to be taken over by Sempra.
