Australian energy major Woodside Energy has given New York-listed Williams a 10% stake in the Louisiana LNG holding company along with 80% of the Driftwood pipeline, for $378 million. Woodside CEO Meg O’Neill said she seeks to bring more investors into the $17.5 billion Louisiana LNG project.

Texas LNG Brownsville, the US Gulf Coast export project, said it was making solid advances in signing accords for all volumes available as it remains on track for a final investment decision.

A Federal judge in Louisiana has put the US Department of Energy’s pause on liquefied natural gas export permits on hold in a setback for the Biden Administration’s more radical measures to mitigate climate change by curbing gas industry emissions.

April 5 (LNGJ) - Enbridge Inc., the Canadian pipelines company, said its Texas Eastern Transmission subsidiary had received approvals from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to commence service of a natural gas pipeline associated with its Venice extension LNG feed-gas project in Louisiana.

   The Venice extension was designed to supply feed gas to Venture Global LNG's Plaquemines export plant currently under construction on the banks of the Mississippi River south of New Orleans. The FERC said it granted Texas Eastern Transmission’s request to commence service on the 3-mile (4.8km), 36-inch Venice extension pipeline with capacity of around 1.3 billion cubic feet per day.

April 4 (LNGJ) - The UK is scheduled to receive its first April liquefied natural gas cargo from the US next week at the Dragon import terminal at the Port of Milford Haven in Wales.

   The vessel “Seapeak Arwa” with 165,500 cubic metres capacity is scheduled to discharge the US shipment on April 10 at the Dragon facility, according to shipping data. The cargo was lifted on March 28 from the Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana operated by Sempra.

March 25 (LNGJ) - The UK is scheduled to receive a US LNG cargo on March 27 as prices remain solid at the end of the winter season at around the equivalent of $8.720 per million British thermal units on the National Balancing Point market. Spot natural gas prices on the European Energy Exchange also rose. The Dutch TTF day-ahead spot price was at the equivalent of $8.740 per MMBtu.

   The cargo heading for the UK South Hook terminal in Milford Haven in Wales is onboard the vessel “Lech Kaczynski” with 174,000 cubic metres capacity. The shipment was loaded on March 13 at the Cameron export plant in Louisiana.

Baker Hughes, the US liquefied natural gas equipment-maker and energy services company, said the United States was in danger of surrendering market share in the production and export of LNG to replace coal in Asia and elsewhere to make a cleaner environment.

Tellurian Inc., the developer of the Driftwood LNG export project in Louisiana, has been the focus of attention at the CERAWeek energy conference in Houston, Texas, with executives being asked whether they would consider a bid for the firm now put on the block by investment bank Lazards.
