US energy engineering company McDermott has received a limited notice to proceed for an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from Shell for the Manatee natural gas field development project offshore the East Coast of Trinidad and Tobago with supplies destined for LNG production and domestic gas supplies.

Sept 1 (LNGJ) - JGC Holdings Corp. said it had brought in structural reforms in JGC Holdings itself and JGC Corp., the unit that operates the overseas engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business of the JGC Group.

   JGC Corp., based in Yokohama, has been an industry leader in the construction of LNG production plants in countries such as Australia, Malaysia, Qatar and Russia. “The corporate reforms aim to accelerate business-supporting global sustainability and to reinforce the use of digital transformation (DX),” said JGC. “The Group seeks to enhance competitiveness of comprehensive engineering operations by streamlining project execution,” it stated.

LNG contract for Sener

Sept 18 (LNGJ) - Spanish engineering company Sener has signed a contract with Venice-based Italian port and services company Rimorchiatori Riuniti Panfido to deliver basic engineering and technical assistance in the construction of a liquefied natural gas barge transporter to operate in the Adriatic. Panfido is a leading tug and barge owner in Europe and the barge transporter project is co-funded by the European Union. Sener said the unit’s design is a combination of an LNG-fueled tractor tug and an LNG bunkering non-propelled pontoon with 4,000 cubic metres capacity. The deal is one of many contracts being announced this week at the Gastech 2018 exhibition and conference in the Spanish city of Barcelona.

April 6 (LNGJ) - Australian LNG and energy engineering company Clough said it was collaborating with Charles Darwin University, based in the city of Darwin in the Northern Territory, on a research and study programme to improve maintenance engineering procedures and asset management. Clough Chief Executive and Managing Director Peter Bennett said: “This collaboration will bring us new opportunities to develop specialist maintenance expertise such as advanced Clough Automated Maintenance System (CAMS) modules to further automate maintenance planning that interfaces with predictive analytics.” Deputy University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lawrence Cram, said: “There are mutual benefits to be derived from a working relationship where CDU staff not only provide professional and research support to Clough, but also gain valuable practical experience while working with Clough.”
