April 16 (LNGJ) - TechnipFMC, the US oil and gas services company, has been awarded a large contract by ExxonMobil Corp. to supply subsea production systems for the Whiptail project in the Stabroek Block of the South American nation of Guyana. TechnipFMC said it would provide project management, engineering and manufacturing to deliver 48 subsea trees and associated tooling, as well as 12 manifolds and associated controls and tie-in equipment.
“ExxonMobil Guyana will utilize our Subsea 2.0 systems and manifolds, which help provide schedule certainty,” said Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC. “We have already delivered more than 100 subsea trees for ExxonMobil Guyana - the location of one of the world’s fastest developing basins - and we look forward to deepening our relationship with them through Whiptail,” Landes added. TechnipFMC stated that it currently employs around 140 Guyanese and expects to continue to hire and train additional local staff in support of this contract.
Nov 21 (LNGJ) - TechnipFMC has agreed to sell the company’s measurement solutions business to One Equity Partners for $205 million in cash, subject to customary adjustments at the closing of the transaction. As part of TechnipFMC Surface Technologies segment, the measurement solutions business encompasses terminal management solutions and metering products and systems, and includes engineering and manufacturing locations in North America and Europe.
“This transaction reflects TechnipFMC’s broader portfolio strategy to further focus on our core products and market-leading technologies, as well as integrated solutions and services for our clients,” said Doug Pferdehirt, Chairman and Chief Executive at TechnipFMC. The transaction is expected to close during the first half of 2024.
The UK North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has given the go-ahead for the development of the North Sea Rosebank oil and gas field by Norway’s Equinor and London-listed Ithaca Energy with sizeable contracts for US engineering company TechnipFMC and several European energy contractors.

June 15 (LNGJ) - TechnipFMC, the Houston-based subsea and energy technologies company, has been awarded a significant contract by Australian LNG plant operator Woodside Energy to engineer, procure, construct and install flexible pipes and umbilicals for the Julimar Phase 3 development offshore Western Australia. The Company will tie back four subsea gas wells in the Carnarvon Basin to the existing Julimar subsea infrastructure producing to the platform for Wheatstone LNG.
“We have a strong history of solid project execution with Woodside as demonstrated by the successful delivery of the Pyxis, Lambert Deep, and Greater Western Flank Phase 3 projects,” said Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC. “We look forward to continuing this collaborative relationship with this award on Julimar Phase 3 as part of our framework agreement,” Landes added.
May 31 (LNGJ) - Woodside Energy, the Australian operator of the North West Shelf and Pluto LNG export projects, has completed the award of all major contracts for the decommissioning of subsea infrastructure at the Enfield, Griffin, Stybarrow and Echo Yodel oil and gas fields offshore Western Australia.
“The upcoming work will follow successful decommissioning activities which have been underway at the Enfield and Balnaves fields since the first quarter of 2022,” said Woodside. “Specialist contractors engaged to undertake activities during the subsea decommissioning campaign include TechnipFMC, Heerema, McDermott, Fugro, DOF and McMahon. A contract for the permanent plug and abandonment of wells in the Stybarrow field has also been awarded to Transocean,” Woodside added.
