Inpex, the Japanese energy company with majority stakes in the Ichthys LNG project in Australia’s Northern Territory and with an onshore plant proposed for Indonesia, is expecting LNG to transform its earnings and for the new liquefaction venture to have a smoother path to completion.

Rising US natural gas domestic consumption and LNG shipments overseas, along with cross-border pipeline exports, are coinciding with increasing production, keeping prices stable even amid relatively low storage levels.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said his nation planned to obtain a 20 percent share of the global liquefied natural gas market thanks to its abundant natural gas reserves, particularly in Siberia where the Yamal LNG plant is operating and several other ventures are planned.

Argentina is set to change from being an importer to an exporter of liquefied natural gas and has initiated a study on the first liquefaction and export venture with US floating project specialist Excelerate Energy.
