The Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC), owner of the proposed Alaska LNG project, has started replying to regulatory questions on environmental mitigation measures as its main partner in the venture, ExxonMobil Corp., has sent a supporting letter.
Alaska Gasline Development Corp., the state agency overseeing the Alaska LNG project, said it signed an agreement with ExxonMobil Corp. and BP to cooperate on ways to advance the venture by working together to improve the project’s competitiveness and its progress to gain regulatory permits.
Alaska Governor Michael J. Dunleavy will travel to Washington DC to meet President Donald Trump on December 13 and is expected to discuss the state’s liquefied natural gas export project and the importance of Chinese investment from companies such as China Petroleum and Chemical Corp., known as Sinopec, and Chinese banks.
ExxonMobil has signed a preliminary accord for the sale of its 13.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas resources in the Prudhoe Bay and Point Thomson fields of Alaska's North Slope to Alaska Gasline Development Corp., the state-owned body leading the development of Alaska LNG.
