Woodside Petroleum, the largest Australian operator of LNG plants, has responded to those who criticise and undervalue the contribution to society of energy companies and their exports by disclosing its substantial tax and royalty payments amounting to billions of dollars since the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

The first shipment of liquefied natural gas from the newest US export plant at Corpus Christi in Texas is scheduled to arrive in Greece on December 27 and the European nation will be the 30th supplied by owner Cheniere Energy since it started exports from the Gulf Coast in 2016.

Singapore LNG cargo indices fell to their lowest level this winter to be below US$9.00 per million British thermal units except for some destinations in North Asia for February deliveries.

French energy major Total said it signed an agreement to sell 4 percent of its stake in the Australian Ichthys LNG export project in the Northern Territory for US$1.6 billion to operator Inpex Corp. of Japan.
