The Canadian National Energy Board said it was scheduling hearings over the next three months to consider a jurisdictional challenge of the approval of a pipeline needed to supply feed-gas to the LNG Canada project led by Royal Dutch Shell.
The Goldboro LNG export plant in the Atlantic Coast Canadian province of Nova Scotia, with plans to ship cargoes to Europe, has been given the final go-ahead by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board after previously receiving its environmental approval.
LNG Canada is moving forward thanks to the support of members of the native North American Haisla First Nation in the Kitimat region of British Columbia who overcame the posturing of the Canadian political elite who tried to lecture the native peoples about caring for the environment while denying them well-paid jobs and careers in the energy industry.
