Energy consultants Wood Mackenzie said details on pricing and the timing of first deliveries for the landmark Russia-China natural gas supply deal just signed are not clear, but has said in an analysis that it will have large implications for the Asian LNG and natural gas market.

British Columbia is welcoming the news that a joint venture of Hitachi High-Technologies and Air Water Plant & Engineering Inc. (HTAW) is opening a North American head office in Vancouver to capture market share in the LNG transportation market.

Malaysian energy company Petronas told the International LNG in BC Conference taking place in Vancouver that its Pacific Northwest LNG project was on track and would probably cost around C$36 billion (US$33M) to complete by 2019.

Japanese LNG imports in April rose 2.3 percent as Middle East cargo numbers fell and deliveries from Asia-Pacific nations rose, and as the country entered its eighth month without any nuclear power generation - with the review process on restarts now set to drag through the summer.
