Queensland Curtis LNG, the coal-seam-gas-to-LNG project being developed by BG Group of the UK, has awarded an engineering and project services provider contract to Australian company WorleyParsons.

The International Energy Agency has warned Asian LNG consumers that US LNG will be more expensive than they think as moving LNG over long distances is expensive - up to 10 times higher than moving an equivalent amount of coal or oil around the world.

British Columbian Premier Christy Clark met a delegation of high-ranking government officials from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) to reaffirm the province's commitment to developing its LNG industry and to become a key supplier to Asia.

Cheniere Energy, the leading US LNG export plant developer, said its Corpus Christi LNG project in Texas signed a sale and purchase with Spanish LNG player Gas Natural Fenosa, days after signing an earlier deal with Spanish utility Iberdrola SA.
