Uruguay said it was moving forwarded with expressions of interest for regasification capacity and a preliminary tender process for liquefied natural gas for the South American nation’s deployment of the world's largest Floating Storage and Regasification Unit as its first import terminal.

Gaztransport and Technigaz (GTT), the French maritime storage tank technology company, has signed a technical assistance and license agreement with Philippines-based Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Co., a provider of modular industrial equipment, for the construction of onshore LNG tanks and bunkering infrastructure.

French energy major Total has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Gas Corp. during the LNG 18 conference in Perth, Australia, to reinforce mutual cooperation to explore opportunities throughout the LNG value chain.

Petronas Chief Executive Zulkiflee bin Wan Ariffin told the LNG 18 conference in the Australian city of Perth that the Malaysian energy company would be sending the world’s first floating LNG production hull from the shipyard in South Korea to the Kanowit natural gas field, located 180 kilometres offshore Sarawak.
