Royal Dutch Shell has taken delivery of a third liquefied natural gas-powered Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) at Port Fourchon on the Louisiana Gulf Coast.

Kosmos Energy, a US exploration and development company based in Dallas, Texas, said it was pushing ahead with its plans for a liquefied natural gas project in West Africa using its feed-gas discoveries offshore Senegal and Mauritania.

French Minister of the Environment, Energy and Marine Affairs, Segolene Royal, the former partner of current Socialist President Francois Hollande, says she will examine ways to ban liquefied natural gas imports sourced from shale gas and cited cargo imports from the US in a speech to parliament.

Golar LNG, the Norwegian owner of LNG carriers and Floating Storage and Production Units as well as developing production hulls, has overhauled its management and replaced Chief Executive Gary Smith.
