UK company Parker Bestobell Marine, a leading supplier of cryogenic valves for liquefied natural gas carriers, received an order from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering of South Korea to supply its valves for the next three vessels being built on behalf of Canadian shipping company Teekay Corp.

Italian LNG and energy engineering company Saipem was awarded contracts worth $1.7 billion for developing the world-class Zohr natural gas field offshore Egypt that will form the Arab nation’s East Mediterranean Gas Hub and will affect the region’s LNG market.

Petronet LNG, the Indian import terminal owner and cargo importer, said it is on the short list for setting up an import facility in Bangladesh to be located on Moheshkhali Island offshore the port of Cox's Bazar in the Bay of Bengal and has other LNG plans for the country.

Becker Marine Systems of Germany said it was operating a successful service that had gone beyond the test phase in supplying regular power from liquefied natural gas to a cruise ship during its regular stop-overs in the Port of Hamburg.
