The founder and executive Chairman of the Commonwealth LNG project in Louisiana, Paul Varello, has announced his retirement while also selling control of his company to the New York-based Kimmeridge asset management firm.

Pembina Pipeline Corp., the Canadian natural gas and energy transportation and terminals company, and its Cedar floating LNG partner, the Haisla First Nation of British Columbia, have reached a positive investment decision and will proceed with the near-shore FLNG project on Haisla traditional territory on the Douglas Channel near Kitimat.

The US Department of Energy issued its June 2024 liquefied natural gas and pipelines export and import data report with the Netherlands again heading the LNG cargo destination list, Germany paying the most for shipments and the Calcasieu Pass plant in Louisiana still having the highest prices.
