The founder and executive Chairman of the Commonwealth LNG project in Louisiana, Paul Varello, has announced his retirement while also selling control of his company to the New York-based Kimmeridge asset management firm.
Tokyo Gas, the second-largest Japanese LNG importer, has agreed to sell stakes held in four out of five LNG export projects in Australia, to the US-based private equity firm EIG Global Energy Partners.
Sempra Energy, the developer of the Cameron LNG project in Louisiana and Costa Azul LNG in Mexico, said it signed an agreement to sell its non-utility US natural gas storage facilities for $322 million to a unit of ArcLight Capital Partners.
