Gazprom said its board considered a new report forecasting most global shale-gas production was likely to be concentrated primarily in North America in the medium-term and long-term so that the Russian natural gas company would have to boost its own shale and LNG prospects as European and Chinese developments lagged.

OMV Gas Marketing of Austria has signed an LNG supply agreement with Qatargas, the world’s largest production company, with shipments to be delivered over a period of five years to the Dutch import terminal at the Port of Rotterdam.

Indian LNG imports surged almost 28 percent last month, boosted by African shipments from Angola, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria, though because of limited import infrastructure and pipeline capacity the fiscal year-to-date increase in volumes was just 3 percent.
