The Kenai LNG production plant in Alaska, owned by ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil, is ceasing operations for commercial reasons after shipping LNG cargoes to Japan since 1969.

Chevron said it achieved further drilling success in the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia with another natural gas discovery that will help underpin expansion of the US$40-billion Gorgon LNG project.
