Teekay LNG Partners signed an agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering of South Korea for the construction of two 173,400 cubic metres capacity LNG carriers, and with an option for three more, to prepare for the next wave of LNG output and shipping US-produced cargoes through the Panama Canal.

Skangass, the Norwegian small-scale LNG production plant owner, said it won a contract to supply 30,000 tonnes per annum of LNG as fuel for the domestic Fjord Line shipping company.

BG Group, the leading LNG portfolio player, appointed former Royal Dutch Shell executive Chris Finlayson as its Chief Executive to succeed Frank Chapman.

Royal Dutch Shell and a consortium made up of France-based engineering company Technip and Samsung Heavy Industries signed an agreement opening the way for multiple Floating LNG production plants to be built in South Korea.
