Gazprom Marketing & Trading, the LNG arm of the Russian natural gas giant, has attended a  ceremony for a third LNG carrier named after a Russian Siberian river that flows into the Arctic Ocean, near where much of Russia's future LNG production will be based.

Qatar Petroleum, the world's largest LNG producer, has set out a new corporate vision to remain at the forefront of the LNG market worldwide.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak told visiting Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Putrajaya, outside of Kuala Lumpur, that there was a new LNG relationship between the countries based on the $35 billion Pacific Northwest LNG project being developed by Malaysia's state energy company Petronas.

The development of three Canadian LNG export projects in the Kitimat area of British Columbia has led the Pacific coast province to set aside funds to study the future impact on air emissions.
