US Department of Energy Deputy Assistant Secretary Paula Gant (right), who comes from the LNG state of Louisiana, has recently sent a letter to Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski saying the DoE would not “rescind a previously-granted authorization” for LNG exports “except in extraordinary circumstances.” 

BG Group, the leading global LNG portfolio player, said revenue and other operating income decreased 6 percent to $4.39 billion, reflecting a 10 percent decrease in production volumes and fewer LNG cargo deliveries.

Petronas, the Malaysian energy company trying to revitalize its domestic LNG production capacity with an onshore expansion and two Floating LNG projects as well as ventures overseas, has announced three new natural gas discoveries in three of its upstream areas in Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia.

Black and Veatch, the Kansas-based LNG liquefaction plant equipment maker and project developer, said there was optimism in the industry because of coming US exports from the shale-gas boom and more use of the fuel in transportation.
