Geography and time-to-market offers a distinct advantage for the Shell-led LNG Canada venture in Kitimat, British Columbia. The massive 44 million tons per annum (mtpa) LNG export venture will liquefy and ship natural gas from the North Slope and export it to high-priced markets in Northeast Asia – at a cheaper price than shale gas exported via LNG terminals along the US Gulf Coast; our Market Editor Anja Karl has more.

Delfin: In an update, US LNG plant developer, Delfin Midstream said it had agreed to an early works programme with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Black & Veatch to further detail FLNG vessel design specifications as a basis for a lumpsum turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, and integration (EPCI) contract.
