For operators of LNGCs that utilise their own cargo as fuel, the regulatory framework for emissions reporting and trading lacks clarity.

Cheniere Energy filed its FERC application on 3 February to build a fourth expansion phase at Corpus Christi, adding 24mtpa through four large-scale trains. If approved, the Texas facility would reach nearly 50mtpa of capacity. LNG Journal trade flow data shows the Stage 3 ramp-up is already delivering results, with exports running at over 20mtpa by late 2025.
