Germany's large-scale FSRU expansion aims to bolster European energy security. Whilst high operational costs, uneven utilisation and environmental concerns have triggered opposition, Europe's transitioning energy landscape mandates energy security enhancements, writes our Markets Editor Dr Alexander Wilk. 

India is poised to snap up big parts of the substantial volume of uncontracted LNG from the Middle East. Buying interest is on the rise as the Indian government allows utilities to blend LNG with domestically produced gas in a bid to make it more affordable for power generation, compared with coal; our Correspondent Anja Karl investigates.

ADNOC: Japan’s major energy buyer, JERA Global Markets and the UAE’s main energy supplier, ADNOC Gas have signed a $450 mill (AED1.653 bill) LNG supply agreement. 

Under the terms of the agreement, LNG will be supplied by ADNOC Gas to JERA Global Markets’ global supply portfolio for three years.
