Oct 7 (LNGJ) - Jera Co. Inc., the Japanese LNG procurement and project joint venture of utilities Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric, has registered a letter of support with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the stalled Jordan Cove export project in the northwest state of Oregon. The Jordan Cove project was rejected by the US regulator for lack of market support and subsequently signed two Japanese supply agreements, one with Jera and another with Itochu Corp., the Japanese trading house. Veresen Inc., the Canadian-based developer of Jordan Cove, is currently undergoing a FERC re-hearing process for its project.
