May 10 (LNGJ) - FMC Technologies, the energy and LNG project contractor, said its board had appointed Douglas J. Pferdehirt, 52, as the Houston-based company’s next President and Chief Executive, effective September 1, 2016. Pferdehirt will succeed John T. Gremp, 64, who will continue to serve as Chairman while the company completes its transition to the new CEO. “Doug is a strong leader who has demonstrated his ability to translate vision and strategy into solid execution,” said Gremp, who has served as CEO since 2011, having been with the company for 41 years. Pferdehirt joined FMC from energy services company Schlumberger in August 2012 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and was appointed President in May 2015.
