Dec 12 (LNGJ) - Royal Boskalis Westminster, the Dutch dredging and towage company, said its Smit Lamnalco unit, in which it owns a 50 percent stake, has acquired PB Towage Australia as that nation ramps up its LNG carrier and project traffic. Boskalis said that PB Towage was the second-largest player in Australia and was acquired from Pacific Basin Shipping. Its activities along the Eastern coast stretch from Melbourne to the Cape York Peninsula. Following this transaction, Smit Lamnalco will be active in eight ports in Australia with a total of 29 vessels offering a combination of harbour towage and terminal and Floating Production Storage and Offloading-related services.
