Dec 12 (LNGJ) - The 10 electricity utilities in Japan used 4.7 million tonnes LNG in November for their gas-fired plants compared with 4.6MT in the same month a year ago, a rise of just over 2 percent, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan. The LNG is imported by companies such as Tokyo Electric Power Co., Chubu Electric and Kansai Electric for gas-fired plants located from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south. Before Japan's nuclear shutdown N-plants accounted for 29 percent of electricity generated, while power plants using LNG, coal and oil provided more than 60 percent and the balance was made up from other sources.
