STX Europe sale statement

Jan 18 - Shipbuilder STX Europe AS made a statement concerning speculation it is selling part of the business to an Asian buyer. It confirmed that as part of its "assessment of available strategies" it is exploring the viability of a sale of shares in the company and has retained investment banks JPMorgan Chase Bank in Hong Kong and Standard Chartered Securities in Korea. "However, at this juncture STX Europe emphasizes that there is no certainty that a sale of shares will take place," the statement added. STX Europe comprises six shipyards in Finland, France and Norway in addition to nine shipyards belonging to STX OSV Holdings.
