GAIL-Macquarie LNG deal

Jan 16 - Indian energy company GAIL expects to sign a deal within a month with Australian investment bank subsidiary, Macquarie Energy, to buy 2 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the US Freeport LNG export project in Quintana Island, Texas, the Wall Street Journal reported. Macquarie has a stake in the project with Freeport. GAIL last month agreed to buy 3.5 MTPA of LNG for over 20 years from another US export project, the Sabine Pass venture in Louisiana
