LNG revenue has become a big political issue in Australia. The Queensland Premier Anna Bligh said as part of a state election campaign that her government had plans to invest half of royalties from the state's coal-seam-gas-to-LNG industry in education. She said the amount would be around A$1.8 billion over 10 years.
