Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering said it signed an agreement to help develop Israel's offshore Tamar natural gas field. Daewoo said that for "geopolitical reason" an LNG Floating Production and Storage Unit would be deployed, rather than building an onshore plant, with production scheduled for 2016. The Korean company said it expected to build the FPSO and also secure LNG sales revenue. Other companies involved include Noble Energy.
