JBIC lends Kyushu $778M to buy LNG

Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has given a loan of 60 billion yen ($778M) to Japanese utility Kyushu Electric to help finance its increased purchases of LNG for power generation. "In the wake of the earthquake and nuclear power plant accident it is recognized as a pressing issue in the national life and economic activity in Japan that there is enough LNG for the stable supply of electricity," the JBIC said.
