Reliance
Industries of India and BP of the UK will pursue LNG import opportunities after the incorporation
of
a joint venture called India
Gas
Solutions. The
venture
will
also
develop
infrastructure
to accelerate
transportation
and
marketing
of
natural
gas
within
the
country.
India
Gas Solutions will
be
funded
with
equal
equity
from
BP
and
RIL. The venture
will
"assume
the
administration
of
existing
gas
contracts
and
will
also
pursue
other opportunities, including
LNG
imports."
