Two tankers were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz and at Sohar anchorage off Oman on 11 October, with two Indian seafarers missing after a drone strike on an oil product tanker. The incidents involved a Suezmax carrying crude oil from Basrah, Iraq, and a smaller tanker carrying refined petroleum products. The strait is also a major LNG transit route, particularly for Qatari exports.
