Aberdeen UK-based offshore engineering company, EnerMech has won a contract involving a major offshore gas development off Australia’s northwest coast for an undisclosed fee.
EnerMech said the subsea pre-commissioning and specialist services contract covered an East Browse development.
The pre-commissioning work will include offshore activities centred on an FLNG to be located off the Western Australia coast.
Woodside is heading up the Browse joint venture project, which aims to develop several fields located about 425 km north of Broome.
This A$30 bill project involves Australia’s largest untapped conventional gas resource, with 2C contingent reserves estimated at 898.3 mill barrels of oil equivalent.
The proposed development concept includes two FPSOs with a circa 900 km pipeline connecting to existing North West Shelf Karratha gas plant.
Woodside is currently seeking regulatory approval for Browse. Last month, Australian authorities extended the life of Karratha through 2070.
EnerMech said it will carry out the work from its offices in Australia and Malaysia between October, 2025 and April, 2026.
