Chinese Hilong Petroleum Offshore Engineering has been awarded a transportation and installation contract for the second phase of Eni’s Congo LNG project.

The contract, worth around $56 mill, calls for the transport and installation of two wellhead platforms, which will last for six months starting in June. Operations are scheduled to be completed in mid-November 2025.

Gas from the two platforms will be transported to a floating production unit, currently under conversion from the Scarabeo 5 rig at CIMC Raffles yard in China.

The FSPSO will separate the gas from liquids and feed it to the ’Nguya’ FLNG, which will be stationed nearby, northwest of the Djeno terminal in a water depth of around 35 m.

The FLNG is currently in the final stages of construction at Wison New Energies’ yard in China. It is designed to produce 2.4 mill tonnes of LNG.
