A fifth LNG cargo loaded at Russia's Arctic LNG 2 is reportedly on an LNGC managed by a company under US sanctions, according to ship tracking data.
NOVATEK’s Arctic LNG 2 project is also subject to Western sanctions over Russia's war with Ukraine.
On 14th September, the LNGC ‘Asya Energy’ berthed at the plant, and departed fully loaded a day later, according to data from Kpler and LSEG, according to Reuters.
The vessel is managed by India-based Ocean Speedstar Solutions, which has also been sanctioned by the US State Department.
NOVATEK had earlier claimed in a statement that media allegations about the company being involved in establishing and managing a ‘shadow fleet’ for the ‘project were untrue.
