Chinese giant petrochemical company, Sinopec, has announced the start of operations at its 6 mill tonnes per year Huaying LNG regasification terminal, located in Guangdong, southern China.
The announcement was made after the terminal handled its first cargo, which came from Australia, delivering 72,000 tonnes of LNG.
Huaying LNG is a joint venture between Sinopec and Huaying Investment Holding Group.
The terminal has three LNG storage tanks with capacity of 200,000 cu m each and an LNGC berth.
A second phase of the terminal is planned, which would double its capacity to 12 mill tonnes per year.
