In an attempt to counter accusations made against NOVATEK in the ongoing row over Russian gas exports, since the Ukrainian war, the gas developer has issued the following statement

‘Due to increasing instances of misinformation being published in the media affecting the operations and the reputation of PAO NOVATEK, the company stressed that it is one of the participants in Arctic LNG 2, while its employees are not employed by the project.

‘All of the project's activities, including operational and commercial activities, are controlled solely by Arctic LNG 2’s management.

‘The allegations made in the media, namely that the company is involved in the establishment and management of a ‘shadow fleet’, as well as in loading products from the Arctic LNG 2 project, are untrue and do not stand up to facts.

‘The only reliable sources of information about the activities of NOVATEK are the official company's website (www.novatek.ru), as well as press releases and official statements and comments by the members of the Company's Management Board.

‘NOVATEK will take all steps to thwart publication and dissemination of misinformation intended to cause damage to the company, and will protect its interests in court’, the statement read.
