Aug 11 (LNG) - Japanese power company and LNG buyer Kyushu Electric said it was turning on its Sendai nuclear power plant in Kagoshima prefecture and it would be fully online by Friday, August 14. The Kyushu Electric reactor has been shut since May 6, 2011, following the earthquake and tsunami that destroyed Tokyo Electric Power's Fukushima facility and led to the closure of all nuclear reactors in Japan. The restart at the Sendai nuclear plant will mark the first time a reactor will be placed back online in Japan since September of 2013.
