Burning LNG to power Korean industry deemed 'costly'

Prioritising LNG and small modular reactors to power South Korea’s semiconductor clusters and data centres is a “high-cost, high-risk, and high-carbon strategy,” IEEA analysts warn. This hold true especially if Korean utilities have to get LNG cargoes shipped across the Pacific Basin from the United States, as compared with cargoes from nearby Australia.
