Venture Global has set the pace for how quickly new US LNG export capacity can come to market. The 10 million tons of LNG per annum Calcasieu Pass project in Cameron, Louisiana, moved from financial close to production in just 29 months and fears over a halt in Russian gas transits through war-torn Ukraine to Europe may well herald a wave of financial investment decisions (FIDs) for new liquefaction capacity in the United States.
