TotalEnergies, Oman’s National Oil Company and the Omani government agreed to build Marsa LNG, which aims to set new standards by producing all energy needed to liquefy gas via its own solar power capacity. Once constructed, Marsa LNG will boost Oman’s LNG capacity by almost 10 percent. Last year, the country’s only LNG plant – Oman LNG – produced considerably above nameplate capacity at 106 percent utilisation, according to our data and calculations.
