Japan, the world’s No. 1 buyer of liquefied natural gas, said it imported 14 percent more LNG during April as it used more for gas-fired power stations to make up for a drop in nuclear power generation.
Gazprom, the Russian natural gas monopoly, is likely to acquire the largest natural gas field in Eastern Siberia by default from BP as Russian regulators prepare to strip the UK major of its licence, the same tactics used against Royal Dutch Shell’s Sakhalin LNG project.
