Fluxys, the Belgian natural gas transportation company and LNG terminal operator, is launching a new service on February 1 to enable shippers to transfer gas without capacity limitations between all entry points in the Zeebrugge area, including the LNG facility.

Baker Energy, a subsidiary of US services company Michael Baker Corp., said Nigeria LNG had accorded it a three-year extension of its maintenance contract for the Bonny Island liquefaction complex.

AES Corp., the US power company, is making a federal court challenge to a local council’s prohibition of its planned Sparrows Point LNG terminal at the former site of a Bethlehem Steel shipyard near the city of Baltimore.

Technip, the French engineering firm, said it was taking a one-time charge of 200 million euros ($295M) within its fourth-quarter 2007 accounts because of delays and higher costs in the completion of its joint venture with Chiyoda building the Qatargas II project.
