Baker said the contract was worth $5.8 million per annum and was awarded to its joint venture with a local partner, OTS Nigeria. The renewal, which includes an option for a further two years maintenance, will provide a wide variety of operations and support activities.
Services include planned maintenance; project engineering and shutdown services; and the provision of management and administrative personnel and facilities for site operations, logistical, technical and materials/equipment support.
The opportunity undoubtedly is one of our most challenging ventures to date, but it is also the single largest opportunity for Baker to validate its position as a market leader in the execution of operations and maintenance services contracts, said Richmond Leeb, Managing Director of Baker/OTS Nigeria.
It will be a total metamorphosis from simply providing human resources to taking part in planning and management activities, Leeb added.
