Royal Dutch Shell said LNG earnings for the second quarter were about 50 percent higher than in the same quarter a year ago, even as its sales volumes edged lower.

Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd, an Australian company developing the Fisherman’s Landing coal-seam gas LNG project, said it would select an LNG buyer by September from bankable proposals and the buyer will also likely become an investor.

Technip, the French LNG contractor, recorded a near 30 percent rise in second-quarter net profit to 103 million euros ($161M), and while its Qatargas II LNG Train 4 project was almost complete, final negotiations were still ongoing about the delayed Qatargas III and Qatargas IV projects.

Suez LNG North America Chief Executive Clay Harris testified before the US House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, saying LNG is and will continue to be “an important part of the solution.”
