French utility and energy company Engie has signed a marketing agreement with the owner of an established LNG import terminal in the Caribbean that will underpin small-scale LNG deliveries from the US to Panama and the Dominican Republic for power and fuel use.

Hoegh LNG, the Norwegian fleet owner and floating project developer, said it signed a contract to supply a vessel to be deployed as an import terminal for a project near the port of Tema in Ghana, one of two planned for the West African state.

The Dutch Gate LNG import terminal formally celebrated its expansion with 400 guests invited by the main shareholders, utility company Gasunie and the international storage giant Royal Vopak and by the main break-bulk partner, Royal Dutch Shell.

The Leviathan natural gas field partners in the East Mediterranean, led by Noble Energy of the US and Israel’s Delek Group, have signed a third supply agreement for a total of 8.8 billion cubic metres as pipeline competition to LNG is set to grow in the region.
