The US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources is holding a hearing to take testimony on the potential for exporting domestic natural gas as LNG, and an executive from global LNG player Royal Dutch Shell will be among the witnesses appearing.
The US Energy Department has said its main consideration for deciding on exports of surplus natural gas from shale resources as LNG was the price impact on the domestic market and whether Americans would have to pay more for their natural gas.
